Most likely ONE OF A KIND and dating to the early 1900s or so, from France, may I offer this celluloid Greeting Card with a handpainted spray of florals to the front (they look like pink and white carnations). Reading "Bonne Fete" on the front cover (Happy Birthday), the card has a blank paper interior to replace the original inside paper that was too far gone to keep. The spine of the card is held fast with a bit of pinky-peach rayon ribbon tied in a bow - this ribbon serves to hold the plain paper insert in place. The back of the card is also celluloid.
Size: 3" x 5-1/2" approx. when closed. Condition: Everything is pristine though the original back cover does show indications of its age - light scuffs/marks only.
Final Comments: What a way to gift a unique treasure to a loved one! This card is more than likely ONE OF A KIND and who doesn't like receiving something that no one else has! No envelope as of now but if I find one to fit, I will include it with the purchase. In any event, the card will arrive in a glassine envelope!
