#192 FIRST COMMUNION - Art Deco Frame, Victorian First Communion Card
FIRST COMMUNION - Art Deco Frame, Victorian First Communion Card

Shouldn't your Darling Daughter have something "extra special" to remind her of her special day? Gifted from the family to the newly confirmed daughter - here's something that can be given that is sure to serve as an heirloom one day.

May I offer..... A One of a Kind Souvenir for Holy First Communion! And when I say ONE OF A KIND I mean just that - the buyer is the only person to have an item that has not been produced in a number greater than ONE! Most of my Victorian paper stash is "1 of each" - the same goes for my trade cards, Valentines, Christmas cards, etc.

AGE: The frame dates to C.1930 while the inside card dates to C.1880

ITEM:A marriage made in heaven!  To save an Antique Victorian French First Communion Souvenir Card, I placed the main portion of the card onto new cardstock and placed under glass within an American Art Deco Tilt Frame.

The Communion image is that of a young girl dressed in a kind of flocked white paper, beset with silver glitter stars.  The girl carries a candle and is highlighted by genuine Victorian Scrap floral bits and pieces.  At the bottom of the image is printed "Souvenir de plus beau jour" - A Souvenir of your Beautiful Day!  At the top right is a Silver Dresden image of a Dove of Peace, possibly a French Swallow aka HIrondelle.

The background to the card is a white die cut bit of cardstock placed upon a pink and white curlicue background.

The original glass is present to the tilt frame, and the back has been sealed with white paper.  The back is blank and a personalized sentiment can be added if desired.

Sorry the pics aren't as good as they should be - you really will see all the detail when you have this piece in hand.

CONDITION:  Excellent.  The frame just shows a touch of shabby chic-ness.

SIZE:Frame stands about 9-1/2" high x 9-1/4" wide at the base.  Image size is 5-3/4" x 7-3/4" approx.

FINAL COMMENTS: The frame will be packed very carefully for shipping.  Again, this is a ONE OF A KIND marriage of two eras.
