Dating to C.1901 or so, suspended from a long rose gold colored watch chain - lorgnette chain, here is one of the most spectacular gold filled locket pendants I have ever had the pleasure to offer. Found in an estate here in the St. Louis area, this piece has been "family held" since it was first presented to the original owner. a rectangular shaped locket pendant is ornately engraved with stripes, florals and a central panel for adding initials. Open the locket to reveal two areas for photos Original rims are present - missing only is the original cellophanes (easily cut from clear plastic). The long chain is rose gold colored with no clasp (it's an over-the-head length); swivel end to hold the locket. The locket itself is yellow, rose and green gold colored. Condition: In my mind, perfect, save for the missing cellophanes which I do not consider a major faux pas.
Metal Content: Gold Filled with Hallmarks of S&S on the rims; G&H Co on the swivel.
Size: The locket measures 1-3/4" x 1-1/4". The chain is 16-3/4" long (doubled); from swivel to center section is 2-1/2", the doubled section is 29".
Weight: 25.9 grams
Final Comments: WoW! Still as bright and as shiny as the day it was purchased!
