Dating to the early 1900s or so, may I offer this stunning filigree cross from France - all darkened silver (patina) with embellishments of faceted rhinestone pastes in ruby, rose and pale green hues. The cross is known as a "regional" piece of jewelry - coming from a certain province in France. The stones look to be foil backed (closed back) but I am not entirely sure - confirmation would only come with removing the stones from their setting. Original bale is present which is so nice as it really does make the pendant complete! Condition is excellent with no problems I can spot.
Metal Content: I am stating silverplate as I can find no French hallmarks but if the piece is silver, well, so much the better.
Hallmarks: None that I can find.
Size: From top of bale to bottom measures 3-1/4" x 1-3/4" wide.
Weight: 10.3 grams
Final Comments: Absolutely scrumptious! Just needs a chain - mine is for display purposes only.
