Dating to the 1930s or so and in a Victorian Revival manner (and if I'm wrong, a genuine Victorian piece) may I offer this yellow gold locket pendant that is round in shape BUT, if you look closely, resembles the top of a Japanese bamboo fan (hinge side would be where the fan stick handle would be) covered with a floral motif. The design suggest an affinity for Gilbert & Sullivan's operetta The Mikado. The enamel front panel is against a slightly textured background - the back of the piece is plain and smooth. Locket opens easily and closes securely. No rims or glass, just tape your photos on the inside. Original bale is present. Condition is very nice - perfect outside with just some light marks on the inside as well as a touch of tarnish. A light polish and photos will definitely hide all marks on the inside!
Metal Content: 14K Gold with a Hallmark of 14K on the back of the bale.
Size: 1-3/16" wide x 1-1/2" high (top of bale to bottom).
Weight: 5.7 grams
Final Comments: Just needs the right chain to make it complete - mine's just for show.
