About 20 years ago, my partner Art came into 3 shadowboxes full of Victorian buttons. Well, he couldn't sell the buttons as a set so he had me take them from the boxes to list individually which I am now doing. I'm not a button expert but I do know a good one (or two) when I see them. So up for offer now:
Here's a brass color metal button, shank back, with a silvered image of a putti, cherub or young child sitting on a swing. I am guessing but age is anywhere from the late 1800s to early 1900s. Condition is very nice with a touch of aging on the outer rim. Metal content? Hmm. Base metal? Brass? I really don't know. Size is 1-1/8" across.
Definitely a unique bit of metal for a treasured project!
