Dating to the 1950s or so, here's a Sterling Silver (hallmarked STERLING on the reverse) pin - brooch that features sections of yellow gold vermeil (wash) as well as faceted purple and white rhinestones. Now while the pin dates to the mid century modernist period, the piece has an almost "antique" look to it. All the rhinestones have dulled with old age but it's this that makes the pin so unique. While the clear rhinestones are "cut" the normal way - the purple ones are cut with a high dome. Maybe this is why the brooch looks older than it is.
Size is 2" high/wide. Weight is 16.3 grams. A most unique pin with a look that was VERY hard to photograph. I think you will be surprised how nice this pin is once you see it in person!
