Dating to 1910 or so may I offer this sweet purse for a doll (or coin purse for a child) featuring a silver colored metal frame, a cotton corded handle (knotted) and a moss green/gold velvet outside. To one side of the purse I added a small 100% silk & rayon ribbon embellishment, a cream flower with peach hyrdrangea, peach pips and a bit of ombre rayon ribbon. The purse opens by twisting the balls at the top - a bit tight but I think this is a good thing. No inner lining if there was one, only the soft touch of a leather interior.
Condition: Overall, I would say very good. The piece has a definite patina of age - the silver metal is dull, the cording a touch frayed at the knots, but the velvet is perfect with no wear and is soft and supple to the touch.
Size: The purse alone measures 4-/14" wide x 3-1/2" high (to top of balls). The cord adds another 3-1/2" of height.
Final Comments: Ready to add to your favorite doll or teddy bear!
