Dating to the early 1900s may I offer this antique postcard featuring a small floral study of a pair of chrysanthemums, red and white, by the famous French painter, Paul de Longpre aka Paul DeLongpre, the great Victorian artist who was born in France in 1855 and died in Los Angeles, California in 1911. This well known artist dabbled in watercolors as well as the occasional oil - he is well listed in every major art book including Davenports. The postcard has an unsigned front (artist has been verified by Nancy C. Hall, the foremost authority on Paul De Longpre) and has writing on the back (NOT postally used).
Condition: Excellent - ready for framing. A nice chromo bit of paper.
Hallmarks: D with an arrow through it, SERIES
Size: 5-7/16" x 3-1/2"
Final Comments: Even De Longpre postcards are getting harder to find - everyone seems to be framing them these days!
