Dating to the 1950s or so and found in an estate here in St. Louis, I don't know if the original owner used this piece as an example for her own handiwork or if she created it herself.
Made in the manner of the antique French ribbonwork florals of the early 1900s may I offer this yellow floral applique that appears to be chiffon; the green ombre leaves are definitely French. The decorative cording adds a nice touch to the piece as you can see.
Condition: Pretty darn nice. The applique needed only a few extra stitches and a bit of crinoline to put it back into shape (as it was dangling by threads that had seen better days).
Size: Adding in the cording, 2" c 1-1/4"; the center flower alone (without leaves) measures 15/16" high/wide.
Final Comments: Ready to be put to use.
