May I offer......
AGE: C.1900 or so
ITEM: From a little stash a friend found me in Paris, here's a French pharmacy box - a little on the large side - that has been embellished with some vintage materials - a Victorian chromolithograph/trade card (number 5 of a series) and a Gold Dresden phrase that reads TO GREET YOU (along with a horseshoe for luck at the center)! The graphic shows 3 children trying to move an overly large egg - seems this card may have been printed for Easter. The box is hinged at the back so when the lid is lifted, it isn't going anywhere!
CONDITION: The front of the box is perfect - the inside shows VERY LIGHT foxing. The interior could be padded with some fabric or some paper shavings could be added to cushion a gift. The bottom of the box is perfect. Overall, just a lovely presentation box that doesn't need any gift wrapping!
SIZE: 4-1/4" x 3" with a depth of 1-1/2".
FINAL COMMENTS: Just delightful and definitely ONE OF A KIND!
