Dating to the early 1900s may I offer this small round pin holding a hand painted portrait miniature of a Georgian lady wearing a blue hat. The original glass is present and the portrait is nicely rendered though I cannot find a signature; the material for the painting appears to be celluloid, possibly vellum. The pin clasp is a simple c-catch so the pin could be late Victorian or early Edwardian. The pin is made of silver but features a rose gold rim surrounding the painting. Condition is very nice with a dark patina to the pin - but that is easily changed with a light polish. No parts missing on the portrait that I can spot.
Metal Content: I'm thinking the piece is English in origin so silver would be Sterling and gold would be 9K. No hallmarks that I can spot.
Size: 3/4" high/wide with an overly long pin indicative of a Victorian era manufacture.
Weight: 3.2 grams
Final Comments: Sometimes the nicest gifts come in the smallest packages!
