May I offer.....
AGE: C.1960 or so
ITEM: From Italy, Florence to be more precised, and found only in the best American shops during the 60s, here's a package of FLORENTIA note paper and envelopes that, although the side plastic panel has been opened, seems to be completely intact. I can't really reach in to see if everything is intact as I would destroy the cellophane covering, but I seem to be able to count 10 pieces of paper and 10 envelopes. Looks complete - the paper and envelopes still snug within their paper bands.
CONDITION: Although the outside of the cellophane shows a little wear with light marks and indents, it appears the paper is very clean with no stains, etc.
HALLMARKS: Back of the package reads MADE IN ITALY - 10 Env 10 Note Paper.
SIZE: Envelopes measure 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" approx. The note paper measures 5-1/4" x 6-3/4".
FINAL COMMENTS: I remember seeing this paper in Italy in the 1970s - it was collectible then and it's collectible now! In checking the net, I see that a set of 10 envelopes and 10 cards retails for around $22. I think I can do a little better for such a classic bit of stationery!
